Today I learned that sometimes saying goodbye to people is the hardest thing to do. Over the past year at HPU, I’ve made a bunch of friends that lived the college dorm life. Although I didn’t live in the dorms, they treated me like family whenever I’d stop by to chill. These people are genuinely some of the nicest guys and girls that I have ever met.
This evening as I helped them pack to go home; it doomed to me that I possibly won’t ever see some of them ever again. It felt surreal to know that the huge friendships that we created over the past year, will now become nothing but online emails and messages. It was really hard for me to give my final hugs, handshakes, and goodbyes as I left the dorms. I was almost in a state of denial; knowing that my new friends were leaving me & Hawaii to go thousands of miles back to what they call “home.”
Who would’ve ever thought that this time would come. I’m truly going to miss every single one them. I guess that the saying is true, “You truly don’t know what you got till it’s gone.” -Till we meet again amigos! Gonna miss you guys.
Hey, you are right, it happens to everybody, it is also a part of life. I am trying to find several coworkers, and I missed them because we were a great bunch. I feel for you. Also I had the opportunity to visit Hawaii, but my ex decided to keep her job. You take care.
