Fort Street Mall? Feels more like Kapiolani Park to me

Really appreciate all the positive feedback guys! I had a lot of free time after finishing some projects, so I did a pretty long blog entry today.

Have you ever wondered where all the homeless people come from? I know I do each and every day that I have classes at HPU. On Fort Street Mall it seems as if almost every other person that I run in to is either homeless or on some sort of drugs. It’s pretty trippy, but thankfully there is security that come in every day at 6:30am to patrol the block. Today I spoke to one of the securitas-guards and asked him if he knew where all these people came from and how they manage to stay out of trouble. He simply replied that “There’s not much that we can do…. We can’t legally kick them out so they seem to just come here day in and out.” I was surprised! Yet fascinated by these walks of lifes (well not really). There seems to be more and more of them unitingĀ  here and it’s almost starting to become overwhelming. I frequently have these people approach me; begging for money or food, and although I always give the same reply they still come back for more? I think that it’s time to take care of this problem.
